Overview

TerraCoV2 is a preclinical SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) prophylactic vaccine candidate being developed by Oragenics and its wholly owned subsidiary Noachis Terra, based on a stabilized prefusion spike (S) protein antigen licensed from the U.S. National Institutes of Health to induce specific neutralizing antibody immunity against the virus.[1][2][3][5][7][8] The vaccine uses a recombinant prefusion form of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein produced in mammalian (Chinese hamster ovary) cells to preserve native glycosylation and conformational epitopes, aiming to generate robust neutralizing and balanced Th1/Th2 immune responses that block viral entry via the spike–ACE2 interaction.[2][3][9][12] Development has involved partnerships with Aragen Bioscience for cell line development and Avid Bioservices for process development and drug substance manufacturing, with the program positioned as a protein subunit alternative to other COVID-19 vaccine platforms.[1][3][5][8][12]
