Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A therapeutic cancer vaccine targeting two glioma-associated antigens, telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) and protein tyrosine phosphatase receptor type Z1 (PTPRZ1), designed for use in patients with newly diagnosed glioblastoma. The vaccine formulation includes synthetic melanin and a TLR9 agonist to induce strong cellular immune responses. It is administered subcutaneously following standard-of-care radiochemotherapy, during the adjuvant phase of temozolomide treatment. The mechanism of action involves stimulating antigen-specific T cell responses against tumor cells expressing TERT and PTPRZ1, both of which are overexpressed in glioblastoma, particularly in stem-like tumor cells[1][3][4]. The primary indication is glioblastoma.
