Overview
Tesamorelin F8 is a new, concentrated formulation of the growth hormone-releasing factor analog tesamorelin. It is approved for reducing excess abdominal fat in adults with HIV-associated lipodystrophy. The F8 formulation offers significant improvements over previous versions by requiring only weekly reconstitution and less than half the injection volume per dose compared to earlier formulations. Tesamorelin acts as a growth hormone-releasing factor analog, stimulating endogenous growth hormone production from the pituitary gland to reduce visceral adipose tissue. The new formulation maintains bioequivalence and safety profile compared to prior versions but improves convenience and patient adherence due to simplified dosing[1][3][4][9].
