Overview

Teslexivir (formerly known as AP611074 or BTA-074) is a first-in-class small molecule antiviral developed for the treatment of human papillomavirus (HPV)-related diseases such as condyloma (anogenital warts) and recurrent respiratory papillomatosis. It acts as a direct inhibitor of the protein-protein interaction between HPV E1 and E2 proteins, thereby blocking viral DNA replication and inhibiting the growth of HPV. The drug was originally developed by Anaconda Pharma and later by Vaxart. Teslexivir was formulated primarily as a topical gel but could also be adapted for oral delivery to address broader HPV-related indications[1][2][3][4][5].
