Overview

TEST 2 is an experimental multi-ingredient combination developed by the Center for Health Sciences in Serbia for use in clinical research. It consists of guanidinoacetic acid (GAA), choline dihydrogencitrate, vitamin B12, vitamin B6, and folic acid. The formulation is designed to evaluate the metabolic impact of GAA loading on plasma total homocysteine (T-HCy) levels in healthy individuals. GAA is a natural precursor to creatine, and its conversion via methylation in the liver consumes methyl groups from S-adenosylmethionine, which can lead to hyperhomocysteinemia. The inclusion of methyl donors (choline and folic acid) and B-vitamin cofactors (B6, B12) in the TEST 2 formulation is intended to support the remethylation and transsulfuration pathways, thereby attenuating the rise in homocysteine associated with GAA supplementation.
