Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Testavan is a branded 2% transdermal testosterone gel formulation used as testosterone replacement therapy in adult men with confirmed hypogonadism, delivering 20 mg testosterone per gram of gel via a metered pump and hands-free applicator for application to the upper arm and shoulder.[5][7][11] The active ingredient, testosterone, is an endogenous androgen that acts through the androgen receptor to restore physiological serum testosterone concentrations, supporting normal development and maintenance of male secondary sexual characteristics, sexual function, body composition, and overall quality of life.[5] Testavan uses a fast-drying gel base incorporating Ferring’s Advanced Skin Technology to enhance transdermal absorption and is positioned as an alternative to other transdermal testosterone preparations for patients requiring a non-oral, non-injectable delivery system.[2][5][8]
