Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Testolent is an injectable **small-molecule androgen ester** containing testosterone phenylpropionate, a synthetic anabolic-androgenic steroid and C17beta phenylpropionate ester prodrug of testosterone. After administration it is hydrolyzed to testosterone, which binds and activates the androgen receptor to restore androgen signaling. The drug has been used for testosterone replacement and androgen therapy in hypogonadism-related states and other historical indications such as male hypogonadism associated with absent testes or hypopituitarism, delayed puberty, and osteoporosis; it has also appeared as a component of multi-ester testosterone combination products. Testosterone phenylpropionate has molecular formula C28H36O3 and is a specific ester formulation of testosterone rather than a combination drug.
