Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Testosterone + estradiol is a combination hormone therapy that contains both testosterone and estradiol (a form of estrogen). This combination is used to treat menopausal symptoms in women who do not get adequate relief from estrogen therapy alone. Estradiol helps replace the natural estrogen that decreases during menopause, relieving symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, and vaginal dryness. Testosterone helps address symptoms related to decreased testosterone levels that can occur during menopause. The combination is typically given cyclically (e.g., three weeks on, one week off) and for short-term use only.
