Overview
Testosterone + FSHr-LHr is an investigational combination drug regimen studied for the treatment of infertility in women classified as low responders undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF). The protocol involves a pre-treatment phase with transdermal testosterone, which is intended to upregulate follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) receptors in the ovaries, followed by controlled ovarian stimulation using a combination of recombinant follicle-stimulating hormone (follitropin alfa) and recombinant luteinizing hormone (lutropin alfa). This approach aims to enhance ovarian sensitivity to gonadotropins and improve the number of oocytes retrieved and clinical pregnancy rates in patients who have previously shown a poor response to standard stimulation protocols. The regimen was primarily evaluated in clinical trials sponsored by the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona.
