Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tetanus and diphtheria vaccine (Biovalys) is a combination vaccine containing purified tetanus and diphtheria toxoids adsorbed onto an aluminum-based adjuvant. It is designed for active immunization against tetanus and diphtheria in individuals aged seven years and older, including adults. The vaccine works by stimulating the immune system to produce specific IgG antibodies (antitoxins) that neutralize the toxins produced by *Clostridium tetani* and *Corynebacterium diphtheriae*. This product is part of Biovalys's portfolio of essential vaccines in Thailand, aimed at maintaining population immunity and preventing outbreaks of these life-threatening bacterial infections. It is typically administered via intramuscular injection.
