Td vaccine SSI is a combined tetanus and diphtheria (Td) booster vaccine developed by the Statens Serum Institut (SSI). It is a biologic composed of formaldehyde-inactivated toxoids derived from *Clostridium tetani* and *Corynebacterium diphtheriae*, adsorbed onto aluminum hydroxide as an adjuvant. The vaccine is designed to stimulate active immunity by inducing the production of neutralizing antibodies against the tetanus and diphtheria toxins. It is primarily indicated for booster vaccination in adults and children who have previously completed a primary immunization series. In clinical research, such as the Phase III trial NCT01033877, it has served as a standard-of-care comparator for evaluating the safety and immunogenicity of newer combination vaccines, including those containing acellular pertussis components (TdaP).
