This combination refers to the concomitant administration of the Tdap vaccine (tetanus toxoid, reduced diphtheria toxoid, and acellular pertussis) and the inactivated influenza vaccine (IIV). Tdap is a booster vaccine intended for adolescents and adults to maintain immunity against tetanus (caused by *Clostridium tetani*), diphtheria (caused by *Corynebacterium diphtheriae*), and pertussis (whooping cough, caused by *Bordetella pertussis*). The inactivated influenza vaccine provides seasonal protection against various strains of the influenza virus, typically including two A subtypes and two B lineages. Clinical studies have demonstrated that co-administration of these vaccines is safe, well-tolerated, and does not interfere with the immune response to any of the individual components, facilitating improved compliance with adult immunization schedules. The Tdap component typically contains toxoids and purified antigens adsorbed onto aluminum salts, while the influenza component consists of inactivated split-virion or subunit antigens.
