Overview

This combination vaccine, developed by the Institute of Medical Biology, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (IMBCAMS), is designed for booster immunization against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis in individuals aged 6 years and older. It utilizes a reduced-antigen formulation (Tdap), which contains lower concentrations of diphtheria toxoid and pertussis antigens compared to pediatric DTaP vaccines. This approach is intended to maintain protective immunity while minimizing the frequency and severity of injection-site reactions and other adverse events in older populations. The vaccine is adsorbed onto an aluminum-based adjuvant to enhance the immune response. It is currently undergoing Phase I/II clinical evaluation to assess its safety and immunogenicity across different age groups.
