Overview

Boostrix + Fluarix refers to the concomitant administration of two vaccines developed by GSK: Boostrix, a Tdap (tetanus toxoid, reduced diphtheria toxoid, and acellular pertussis) vaccine, and Fluarix, an inactivated seasonal influenza vaccine. Boostrix is indicated for active booster immunization against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis in individuals aged 10 years and older. Fluarix (specifically the quadrivalent formulation) is indicated for active immunization against influenza A and B viruses. Clinical studies have demonstrated that the co-administration of these two vaccines at separate injection sites is safe and does not interfere with the immune response to either vaccine, providing a convenient option for adolescent and adult immunization schedules to improve coverage for these five pathogens.
