Tetatox

Tetatox is a monovalent tetanus vaccine developed and manufactured by the Bulgarian state-owned biomedical company BulBio (BB-NCIPD EAD). The vaccine consists of purified tetanus toxoid, which is typically adsorbed onto an aluminum adjuvant (such as aluminum hydroxide or aluminum phosphate) to enhance the immune response. Tetatox works by inducing the production of specific neutralizing antibodies against the tetanus toxin produced by the bacterium *Clostridium tetani*. It is indicated for the active immunization against tetanus in children and adults, and is also used for post-exposure prophylaxis in wound management to prevent the development of clinical tetanus.
