Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tetcia is an adsorbed tetanus vaccine developed by CanSino Biologics. It was granted New Drug Application (NDA) approval by China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) in August 2026 for the active immunization against tetanus in adults. Tetcia is manufactured using an animal component-free culture medium fermentation process, which controls the risk of exogenous sensitization at the source while ensuring a stable and well-controlled commercial-scale production process. In a large-scale Phase III clinical study, Tetcia demonstrated a potent immune response and durable protection, achieving high antibody geometric mean concentrations (GMC) and a 98.25% antibody seroconversion rate at six months post-vaccination.
