TETRActHib

TETRActHib is a quadrivalent combination vaccine developed by Aventis Pasteur (now Sanofi) to provide active immunization against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, and invasive diseases caused by *Haemophilus influenzae* type b (Hib). The vaccine formulation includes diphtheria and tetanus toxoids, a whole-cell pertussis (wP) component, and a conjugated Hib component (PRP-T), typically adsorbed onto an aluminum salt adjuvant such as aluminum phosphate. It is designed for pediatric use, often as part of the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) in various regions. In clinical research, TETRActHib has been utilized as a standard-of-care comparator or co-administered vaccine in trials evaluating novel candidates, such as the RTS,S malaria vaccine, to ensure that the introduction of new vaccines does not interfere with the safety or immunogenicity of routine childhood immunizations.
