tetracycline + metronidazole + amoxicillin

A combination antibiotic regimen investigated for the treatment of chronic periodontitis. It consists of locally delivered tetracycline (administered directly into periodontal pockets) combined with systemically administered amoxicillin and metronidazole. This triple-antibiotic approach is used as an adjunct to scaling and root planing (SRP) to target a broad spectrum of periodontal pathogens, including anaerobic and gram-negative bacteria like *Porphyromonas gingivalis* and *Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans*. The regimen was evaluated in a Phase 3 clinical trial (NCT01098448) led by The Forsyth Institute to determine its efficacy in reducing pocket depth and improving clinical attachment levels.
