Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TETRALITE is an experimental adjuvanted seasonal influenza vaccine developed by LiteVax BV in collaboration with the INDIGO consortium, which includes 16 public and private R&D organizations from the EU, India, and the United States. The vaccine is a dose-sparing formulation that combines one-fifth of a standard dose of a licensed quadrivalent seasonal inactivated split-virion influenza vaccine with LiteVax's proprietary CMS (carbohydrate fatty acid monosulphate ester) adjuvant. The CMS adjuvant consists of a synthetic carbohydrate fatty acid monosulphate ester immobilized on oil droplets within a squalane-in-water nano-emulsion. By enhancing the immune response to influenza antigens, TETRALITE aims to provide a more affordable and accessible vaccine option, particularly for low- and middle-income countries. The project is supported by the European Union Horizon 2020 program and the Department of Biotechnology of India, and the vaccine is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation for safety and immunogenicity.
