Overview

Tetrase is a proprietary botanical extract developed by Metagenics, Inc., derived from hops (*Humulus lupulus L.*). Its primary active components are tetrahydro-iso-alpha acids (THIAA). Tetrase is characterized as a selective kinase response modifier (SKRM), meaning it modulates specific kinase signaling pathways involved in the inflammatory response, such as those regulating prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) production. Unlike non-selective COX inhibitors, it is designed to provide anti-inflammatory benefits with a reduced risk of gastrointestinal side effects. It is primarily used as a key ingredient in nutraceutical formulations, such as Kaprex, aimed at relieving joint pain and minor inflammation. Metagenics holds patents for Tetrase as an all-natural anti-inflammatory agent.
