Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The tetravalent dengue prM-E mRNA-LNP vaccine is a preclinical-stage vaccine candidate designed to protect against all four serotypes of the dengue virus (DENV1, DENV2, DENV3, and DENV4). Developed by researchers at the Yale School of Medicine and the University of Pennsylvania, the vaccine consists of nucleoside-modified mRNAs encoding the pre-membrane (prM) and envelope (E) structural proteins of each of the four DENV serotypes, encapsulated within lipid nanoparticles (LNPs). In preclinical mouse models, the vaccine has been shown to elicit robust neutralizing antibody responses against all four serotypes and to induce germinal center B cell activity and tissue-resident memory T (Trm) cells, particularly when administered via intradermal delivery.
