The tetravalent recombinant human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine (6, 11, 16, 18 type) (Hansenula polymorpha) is a prophylactic vaccine candidate developed by Beijing Health Guard Biotechnology (also known as Beijing Kangleyu). It is designed to protect against infection by HPV types 6 and 11, which cause the majority of genital warts, and types 16 and 18, which are responsible for approximately 70% of cervical cancers. The vaccine is produced using a recombinant *Hansenula polymorpha* yeast expression system to generate virus-like particles (VLPs) of the L1 major capsid protein for each of the four targeted HPV types. These VLPs are structurally similar to the actual virus but lack genetic material, making them non-infectious while capable of inducing a robust neutralizing antibody response. This vaccine has been evaluated in Phase I clinical trials in China to assess its safety and immunogenicity in healthy females and males.
