TetraVax-DV-TV003 is a live-attenuated tetravalent vaccine developed by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) for the prevention of dengue fever. The vaccine is composed of four specific attenuated dengue virus strains: rDEN1Δ30, rDEN2/4Δ30(ME), rDEN3Δ30/31-7164, and rDEN4Δ30. It is designed to elicit a balanced immune response, including neutralizing antibodies, against all four dengue serotypes (DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3, and DENV-4) following a single subcutaneous dose. Due to the structural similarities between dengue and Zika viruses, which are both members of the Flaviviridae family, TV003 is being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to determine if the immunity it provides can cross-protect against Zika virus infection.
