Overview

tetwtCEA DNA is a gene therapy vaccine candidate designed for cancer immunotherapy. It encodes the wild-type carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), a tumor-associated antigen commonly overexpressed in colorectal and other gastrointestinal cancers, fused to a T-helper epitope derived from tetanus toxoid. The fusion aims to enhance immune recognition by providing strong T-cell help, thereby inducing robust antigen-specific humoral and cellular immune responses against tumor cells expressing CEA. The construct is delivered as naked plasmid DNA and expressed as a membrane protein following administration, typically via physical methods such as electroporation or intradermal injection[3][4][7]. This approach seeks to stimulate the patient's own immune system to recognize and attack cancer cells.
