TEV-261 is a biosimilar candidate developed by Teva Pharmaceuticals that is currently in preclinical development. It is a biosimilar version of pembrolizumab (marketed as Keytruda), a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor. By inhibiting the PD-1 pathway, TEV-261 aims to restore the ability of T cells to recognize and attack cancer cells. As a biosimilar, it is intended to provide a more cost-effective treatment option for the wide range of oncology indications approved for the reference product, including melanoma, non-small cell lung cancer, and various other solid tumors.
