TEV-56192 is a selective small-molecule inhibitor of the voltage-gated potassium channel Kv1.3, currently in Phase 1 clinical development by Teva Pharmaceuticals. Kv1.3 channels are predominantly expressed on chronically activated effector memory T (TEM) cells, which play a central role in the pathogenesis of various autoimmune and inflammatory disorders, as well as neuroinflammatory processes in the central nervous system. By selectively blocking these channels, TEV-56192 aims to inhibit T-cell proliferation and cytokine production, thereby modulating the immune response without causing broad immunosuppression. The drug is being investigated for potential applications across both immunology and neuroscience, targeting conditions where TEM cells drive disease progression and neuroinflammation.
