Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Tezacaftor + ivacaftor** is an oral fixed-dose cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator modulator regimen developed by Vertex Pharmaceuticals for cystic fibrosis. Tezacaftor is a CFTR corrector that improves cellular processing and trafficking of selected mutant CFTR proteins, including F508del-CFTR, to the cell surface; ivacaftor is a CFTR potentiator that increases CFTR channel-open probability and chloride transport. The combination is marketed as Symdeko in the United States and Symkevi in Europe for eligible patients with cystic fibrosis and responsive CFTR mutations.
