Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TFA003 is a novel, small-molecule selective endothelin A (ETA) receptor antagonist being developed by Hangzhou Conba Pharmaceutical for the treatment of diabetic nephropathy. By selectively blocking the ETA receptor, the drug aims to reduce proteinuria, alleviate renal inflammation, and slow the progression of kidney damage in patients with diabetes. Endothelin-1 is a potent vasoconstrictor that plays a significant role in the pathogenesis of chronic kidney disease; ETA antagonism helps counteract these effects while minimizing the side effects associated with ETB receptor inhibition, such as fluid retention. The drug is part of Conba's strategic shift toward innovative pharmaceutical development in the metabolic and renal therapeutic areas.
