TFC-1067 is a small-molecule skin depigmenting agent developed for the treatment of dyschromia and hyperpigmentation, designed to selectively lighten dark spots while preserving surrounding skin tone, offering a potential alternative to hydroquinone. In clinical studies (including a 12‑week double‑blind US study at 0.2% and a European study at 0.4%), TFC-1067 reduced dark spot intensity and size without a “halo” effect and showed favorable tolerability; in the US study, it achieved the selective lightening endpoint whereas hydroquinone did not. The program was developed by Sirona Biochem and its French subsidiary TFChem, with clinical management support from Dermscan/Eurofins; commercialization efforts have included use as an active in Rodan + Fields REVERSE Targeted Dark Spot Corrector and a later global license collaboration with Allergan Aesthetics. TFC-1067 is positioned mechanistically as a tyrosinase inhibitor for topical dermatologic use in hyperpigmentation disorders.[8][1][5][4][3]
