Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**TFC-837** is a synthetic and stabilized antifreeze glycoprotein developed by Sirona Biochem for anti-aging and regenerative medicine applications. It protects human fibroblast cells from stressed conditions, including serum deprivation (75% cell survival after 12 days vs. 0% unprotected), UV irradiation, and oxidative stress, by mimicking natural antifreeze glycoproteins to prevent cellular damage.[1][4][13][16] Potential therapeutic uses extend beyond cosmetics to pharmaceutical applications such as extending blood platelet storage, improving cell transplant outcomes, enhancing stem-cell storage, and supporting organ transplantation by mitigating reperfusion injury and stress responses.[1][16]
