Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TFZ05 is an orally bioavailable small molecule Toll-like receptor 8 (TLR8) agonist developed by Zhengzhou Haidibanglin Pharmaceutical for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B (CHB). As a TLR8 agonist, TFZ05 targets endosomal receptors in immune cells, particularly myeloid dendritic cells and monocytes, to trigger the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-12 (IL-12) and interferon-gamma (IFN-γ). This immune activation is intended to reverse the state of immune exhaustion and tolerance typically observed in chronic HBV patients, thereby enhancing the host's ability to clear the virus. The drug is currently undergoing early-phase clinical evaluation to assess its safety, pharmacokinetics, and antiviral activity in patients with chronic hepatitis B.
