TG-MVA is a preclinical-stage prophylactic viral vector vaccine being developed by Transgene for the prevention of Mpox (formerly monkeypox). The vaccine is based on the **Modified Vaccinia Ankara (MVA)** platform, a highly attenuated, non-replicating poxvirus vector known for its safety profile and ability to induce robust cellular and humoral immune responses. Unlike traditional MVA vaccines often produced in chicken embryo fibroblasts, TG-MVA is derived from a specific cell line, which is intended to facilitate large-scale, standardized manufacturing. The vaccine aims to induce protective immunity against the Mpox virus to prevent infection and disease transmission.
