Overview

TG2 siRNA refers to small interfering RNA molecules designed to specifically target and silence the mRNA of the human *transglutaminase 2* (TG2, also known as TGM2) gene. By binding to TG2 mRNA, TG2 siRNA induces its degradation via the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), leading to reduced TG2 protein expression. TG2 is a multi-functional enzyme involved in post-translational modification of proteins and is implicated in various physiological and pathological processes, including cancer progression, cell survival, apoptosis, and fibrosis. Inhibition of TG2 by siRNA can promote apoptosis in cancer cells, such as non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and modify cellular redox balance. TG2 siRNA is an experimental molecular tool and potential therapeutic modality for diseases where TG2 is pathologically upregulated[2][3].
