Overview

**TG6002** is a tumor-selective recombinant oncolytic vaccinia virus developed by Transgene for solid tumors. The virus is attenuated through deletion of viral thymidine kinase and ribonucleotide reductase functions, supporting preferential replication in tumor cells. It encodes **FCU1**, a bifunctional prodrug-converting enzyme that converts orally administered flucytosine into the cytotoxic fluoropyrimidine 5-fluorouracil within virus-infected tumor tissue. Its intended antitumor activity combines direct virus-mediated oncolysis, intratumoral 5-fluorouracil generation, and induction of innate and adaptive antitumor immune responses. TG6002 has been evaluated clinically by intravenous and intrahepatic arterial administration, including studies in advanced gastrointestinal cancers, colorectal cancer with liver metastases, and recurrent glioblastoma.
