tgf-β2 antisense oligonucleotide (also known as TGF-β2i or TASO) is an antisense oligonucleotide designed to downregulate the production of transforming growth factor-β2 (TGF-β2). In preclinical studies involving pancreatic cancer models, this drug has demonstrated the ability to enhance chemosensitivity to gemcitabine, suppress metastasis, and improve T-cell mediated anti-tumor activities. Its mechanism involves attenuating fibrotic reactions and suppressing regulatory T-cells, which facilitates the infiltration of cytotoxic T lymphocytes and increases pro-inflammatory cytokines, suggesting its potential as an immunotherapeutic intervention for pancreatic cancer.
