TH-009

TH-009 is a first-in-class monoclonal antibody designed to target Anterior Gradient 2 (AGR2), a protein involved in the regulation of protein folding and cellular stress responses. In the context of Crohn's disease, AGR2 is implicated in the development of intestinal fibrosis and the formation of strictures. By neutralizing extracellular or cell-surface AGR2, TH-009 aims to inhibit the pro-fibrotic pathways that lead to the abnormal accumulation of extracellular matrix and progressive thickening of the intestinal wall. It is being developed as a potential therapeutic option to prevent or reverse intestinal fibrosis, thereby reducing the need for invasive procedures such as endoscopic balloon dilation or surgery in patients with fibrostenotic Crohn's disease.
