Drug intelligence / Profile preview
THBP4 (also known as THBP-4) is a novel tetrahydrobenzopyran derivative synthesized and evaluated for its potential anticancer activity. It belongs to a series of 2-(toluenesulfonamido)-3-cyano-7,7-dimethyl-4-substituted phenyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydrobenzopyran-5-one derivatives developed by researchers at Manglayatan University and St. Mary's College of Pharmacy. THBP4 has been evaluated in vitro against MCF-7 breast cancer cells using the MTT assay to determine its cytotoxic potential and IC50 values, as part of an effort to identify potent lead compounds for breast cancer therapy.
