THBS1 siRNA-3 is a specific small interfering RNA (siRNA) sequence designed to target and silence the expression of the Thrombospondin 1 (THBS1) gene. In the context of glioblastoma (GBM) research, it is utilized as an experimental therapeutic tool to investigate the role of THBS1 in tumor progression. By knocking down THBS1, this siRNA inhibits GBM cell proliferation, migration, and invasion while concurrently promoting apoptosis. Mechanistically, the reduction of THBS1 levels suppresses the non-canonical, Smad-independent TGF-β1 pathway, which in turn inhibits the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling axis. This specific siRNA sequence is typically used in preclinical *in vitro* or *in vivo* models to validate THBS1 as a viable therapeutic target for overcoming resistance in aggressive brain tumors.
