Overview

This is a combination of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the primary psychoactive cannabinoid in cannabis, and d-limonene, a terpene found abundantly in citrus fruits and cannabis. Recent clinical studies have demonstrated that co-administration of vaporized THC with d-limonene significantly reduces subjective feelings of anxiety and paranoia commonly induced by THC alone. The anxiolytic effect is dose-dependent on d-limonene, with higher doses providing greater reduction in anxiety symptoms. Importantly, the addition of d-limonene does not alter other cognitive or physiological effects of THC nor its pharmacokinetics. This combination supports the "entourage effect" theory—where non-cannabinoid constituents modulate cannabinoid activity—and may increase the therapeutic index for THC by making it more tolerable for sensitive individuals or those using it therapeutically[1][2][3][4][5][6].
