THCV + CBD is a combination of two phytocannabinoids derived from the cannabis plant—tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV) and cannabidiol (CBD). THCV is a minor cannabinoid found primarily in certain sativa strains, noted for its potential to reduce appetite, support weight loss, improve metabolic health, and reduce anxiety. Unlike THC, THCV does not typically cause psychoactive effects unless consumed in high doses. It may also have neuroprotective properties and has been studied for possible benefits in type 2 diabetes and Parkinson’s disease[5][6]. CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid widely researched for its anticonvulsant properties (notably as the active ingredient in Epidiolex), as well as potential roles in treating anxiety, pain, movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, and other neurological conditions[1][7][9]. Both cannabinoids act on the endocannabinoid system but with different affinities and mechanisms; THCV can act as an antagonist or partial agonist at cannabinoid receptors depending on dose/concentration while CBD acts mainly through indirect modulation of these receptors. The combination product "THCV/CBD" is not an FDA-approved pharmaceutical but may be available via medical cannabis programs or dietary supplement markets where permitted by law.
