Drug intelligence / Profile preview
THDBH130 is a selective small molecule inhibitor of the Urate Transporter 1 (URAT1), developed by Tonghua Dongbao Pharmaceutical for the treatment of gout and hyperuricemia. It functions as a uricosuric agent by specifically targeting the SLC22A12 transporter in the renal proximal tubules to block the reabsorption of filtered uric acid back into the bloodstream. By inhibiting URAT1, THDBH130 promotes the excretion of uric acid in the urine, thereby reducing serum urate levels. Clinical data from Phase I trials demonstrated that the drug is well-tolerated and provides a dose-dependent reduction in blood uric acid. As of early 2024, THDBH130 has progressed into Phase II clinical development.
