Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**THDBH151** is an orally administered small-molecule dual inhibitor of xanthine oxidase and urate transporter 1 being developed by Tonghua Dongbao and its subsidiary Dongbao Zixing for gout and hyperuricemia. It lowers serum urate through two complementary mechanisms: inhibition of xanthine oxidase reduces uric acid production, while inhibition of renal urate transporter 1 reduces tubular urate reabsorption and promotes urinary uric acid excretion. The program completed a Phase IIa trial in patients with gout, in which once-daily THDBH151 reduced serum uric acid with a dose-response relationship.
