The drug's dual mechanism of action addresses the two primary drivers of elevated serum uric acid: overproduction (via XO inhibition) and underexcretion (via URAT1 inhibition). By simultaneously reducing uric acid synthesis and promoting its renal clearance, THDBH151 aims to provide superior efficacy in lowering serum uric acid levels compared to single-target agents like allopurinol or benzbromarone. This balanced approach may also mitigate the risk of renal stone formation often associated with potent uricosuric monotherapies.
