Overview

The paste without CPP-ACP is a placebo control formulation used in clinical research, specifically in studies conducted by Thammasat University to evaluate the efficacy of Casein Phosphopeptide-Amorphous Calcium Phosphate (CPP-ACP) in preventing dental caries. It is formulated to be physically and sensorially identical to the active 10% w/v CPP-ACP paste (commercially known as Tooth Mousse) but lacks the active remineralizing complex. In the context of a randomized trial involving high-risk Thai preschool children, the paste was applied daily following fluoride toothbrushing to determine if the addition of CPP-ACP provides superior protection against the development of new carious lesions in primary teeth.
