Overview

Theakine IBS-C is a bi-component nutraceutical developed by Adamas Biotech for the management of Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation (IBS-C). It consists of a proprietary green tea extract, Theaphenon E, which is highly concentrated in catechins (90%) and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG, 65%), combined with probiotics. The product aims to address the multifactorial nature of IBS-C through the synergistic action of polyphenols—providing antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic effects—and beneficial microorganisms that modulate the gut microbiome. It was registered with the Italian Ministry of Health in February 2025 for oral administration.
