Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Thealoz Total is a preservative-free ophthalmic solution formulated as a medical device for the relief of moderate to severe dry eye symptoms. It contains an innovative combination of three main ingredients: trehalose, sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid), and NAAGA (N-acetylaspartylglutamic acid). Trehalose acts as a bioprotectant and osmoprotectant, stabilizing cell membranes and protecting ocular surface cells from desiccation and oxidative stress. Sodium hyaluronate is a natural polysaccharide found in the human eye that hydrates, lubricates, and promotes healing of the corneal epithelium by retaining water on the ocular surface. NAAGA provides additional anti-inflammatory properties. The formulation is designed to moisturize, protect, soothe itching, reduce redness, and relieve irritation associated with dry eyes[1][5]. It is suitable for adults but should be used in children or during pregnancy/breastfeeding only under medical advice.
