Overview

Theliatinib is a novel small molecule epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitor with potential antineoplastic and anti-angiogenesis activities. It is an orally available ATP-competitive inhibitor that binds to and inhibits EGFR activity. This inhibition blocks EGFR-mediated signaling pathways involved in tumor cell proliferation and vascularization, leading to induction of cell death and inhibition of tumor growth in EGFR-overexpressing cells. Theliatinib has demonstrated high selectivity for EGFR compared to other kinases and shows greater potency than erlotinib or gefitinib in preclinical studies. It was initially developed by Hutchison MediPharma for the treatment of solid tumors such as non-small cell lung cancer and esophageal cancer[1][5][7].
