Overview

Thenyldiamine is a first-generation antihistamine of the ethylenediamine class with anticholinergic properties. It acts primarily as an H1-antihistamine by interfering with the agonist action of histamine at the Histamine H1 receptor. This mechanism attenuates inflammatory processes and is used to treat conditions such as allergic rhinitis caused by the common cold. Like other first-generation antihistamines, it readily crosses the blood-brain barrier and can cause sedation and central nervous system effects. Thenyldiamine has also been reported to have some use in asthma and bronchitis[1][3][4][5].
