THERA-101 is a biologic therapeutic candidate consisting of a concentrated secretome derived from human adipose-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (AD-MSCs). This secretome is a complex cocktail of proteins and microvesicles (exosomes) that possess regenerative and anti-inflammatory properties. Developed by Theratome Bio, THERA-101 is being investigated as a low-volume resuscitation fluid for the treatment of polytrauma, specifically targeting traumatic brain injury (TBI) and hemorrhagic shock. The therapeutic mechanism involves the mitigation of neuroinflammation, reduction of astrocyte activation, and protection of vital organs such as the liver and kidneys from damage following severe trauma. Its low-volume formulation is designed for field-deployable use in austere environments where traditional large-volume fluid resuscitation is impractical.
