TheraCryf DAT inhibitor

TheraCryf (formerly Evgen Pharma) is developing an atypical dopamine active transporter (DAT) inhibitor as a small molecule therapeutic for the treatment of fatigue and narcolepsy. Acquired through the acquisition of Chronos Therapeutics in April 2024, the compound functions by inhibiting the brain's dopamine transport system to gradually elevate dopamine levels. This "atypical" mechanism is specifically designed to avoid the rapid dopamine spikes or "rush" associated with traditional stimulants, thereby potentially providing therapeutic benefit without the liability for abuse. Preclinical proof of concept has been demonstrated in models of narcolepsy, multiple sclerosis-related fatigue, and drug-induced fatigue.
